Description

Indications

Airomir is an aerosol inhaler prescribed to prevent and alleviate respiratory issues, including but not limited to breathing difficulty, wheezing, coughing, and chest constriction stemming from conditions like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Furthermore, Airomir serves as a preventive measure against exercise-induced breathing difficulties.

As a bronchodilator, Airomir works by inducing relaxation and widening of the air passages to facilitate easier breathing.

Uses and Dosage

Before using Airomir and with every prescription refill, thoroughly review the accompanying medication guide and patient information leaflet. Consult your healthcare provider or pharmacist for any queries or concerns.

The number of inhalations prescribed for Airomir may vary per individual based on their medical conditions and response to the treatment.

Typically, Airomir is administered as needed every 4 to 6 hours for the prevention of bronchospasm symptoms, not exceeding 8 inhalations daily.

For exercise-induced bronchospasm symptoms, Airomir should be inhaled 15 to 30 minutes before engaging in physical activity.

Before the initial use of Airomir, priming is recommended. If the inhaler remains unused for two weeks, it should be re-primed before subsequent use.

To prime the inhaler, ensure thorough shaking, then depress the canister four times to release four sprays into the air, directing them away from your face. Caution should be exercised to prevent the medication from coming into contact with your eyes.

To properly use Airomir, adhere to these steps:

  1. Remove the protective dust cap from the mouthpiece. If the cap was not on, inspect the mouthpiece for debris. Ensure the canister is fully and securely inserted into the mouthpiece.
  2. Give the inhaler a thorough shake.
  3. Exhale completely through your mouth.
  4. Insert the mouthpiece between your teeth and close your lips around it, keeping the inhaler upright.
  5. Inhale slowly and deeply through the mouthpiece while simultaneously pressing the canister once to release the medication into your mouth.
  6. Hold your breath for approximately 10 seconds or as long as possible.
  7. Remove the inhaler from your mouth and release pressure on the canister before exhaling.
  8. If instructed to take 2 puffs, wait for 1 minute and then repeat steps 2-8.
  9. Replace the protective cap on the inhaler after use.

Regularly clean your inhaler as instructed by the manufacturer, and do not hesitate to consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you need guidance on maintaining it properly.

To achieve the best results, adhere precisely to the instructions for using Airomir. Do not alter the prescribed number of inhalations or increase the frequency of use without obtaining approval from your doctor.

Should you experience an abrupt increase in breathing difficulty following Airomir usage, immediately contact your doctor.
