Drug Description

Indications

Betoptic S Eyedrops is indicated for the management of elevated intraocular pressure associated with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

As a beta blocker medication, Betoptic S Eyedrops works by reducing the amount of fluid made within the eye.

Uses and Dosage

Before initiating Betoptic S Eyedrops and with each prescription refill, thoroughly read the patient information leaflet supplied by your pharmacist. Should you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist for guidance.

Typically, Betoptic S Eyedrops are administered as one drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, as prescribed by the doctor.

Before use, visually inspect the liquid for any changes in color or presence of particles. If any such alterations are observed, refrain from using it and seek a replacement from your pharmacist.

If you wear contact lenses, take them out before applying Betoptic S Eyedrops. Wait a minimum of 15 minutes before reinserting contact lenses.

To properly apply this eye drops:

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly. Do not touch the dropper’s tip or let it touch the eye or other surfaces to prevent contamination.
  2. Before each use, shake the bottle well and remove the screw cap.
  3. Hold the bottle upside down, gripping it between your thumb and middle finger, with the fingertips facing towards you.
  4. Tilt your head back and position the bottle above the affected eye.
  5. With your opposite hand, place a finger under the eye, gently pulling down to create a “V” pocket between the eye and the lower lid.
  6. Press the bottom of the bottle to dispense one drop of medication – do not squeeze the sides of the bottle.
  7. Repeat these steps for the other eye if directed or if your dose is more than one drop.
  8. Replace the dropper cap after every use without rinsing the dropper.

If using other topically applied ophthalmic medications, administer them at least 10 minutes before applying Betoptic S Eyedrops.

Consistently use Betoptic S Eyedrops at the same times daily to maximize its benefits. Continue using this medication even if you feel well and consult your doctor before discontinuing treatment.
