Indications 

Combantrin Suspension is indicated for the treatment of intestinal worm infections, such as pinworm. 

As an anthelmintic medication, Combantrin Suspension works by immobilizing worms, facilitating their natural elimination through bowel movements. 

Uses and Dosage 

Before taking Combantrin Suspension and every time you get a refill, ensure to thoroughly review the instructions provided on the product packaging and the accompanying patient information leaflet. 

Familiarize yourself with pinworm identification, infection symptoms, and preventive measures. For any inquiries, seek guidance from your healthcare provider or pharmacist. 

The dosage of this medication may vary per individual based on weight and type of infection to be treated. Carefully follow the dosing instructions on the product package or as instructed by your doctor. 

Typically, Combantrin Solution is taken once, as a single dose, not exceeding 1 gram in total. Do not repeat the dose without consulting a doctor beforehand. 

Shake the bottle of Combantrin before use and carefully measure the required dose using the accompanying dosing syringe or a medicine cup or spoon (not a kitchen spoon). 

This medication may be taken at any time of day, with or without food, and it can be ingested alone or with milk or fruit juice. 

If any worms aside from pinworms are observed before or after treatment, or if symptoms or pinworms persist after treatment, seek consultation with a doctor. 

Side Effects 

The potential adverse effects of Combantrin Suspension are outlined below. Promptly notify your doctor if any of these symptoms last or worsen. 

Common Side Effects 

• Stomach pain, nausea, or vomiting 
• Diarrhea 
• Headache 

Serious Side Effects 

• Severe stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea 
• Severe dizziness 
• Persistent headache 

Contact your doctor right away if any of the symptoms above are experienced. 

Allergic Reactions 

In rare cases, Combantrin Suspension may trigger a severe allergic response. Urgent medical assistance should be sought if any symptoms of an allergic reaction are noticed, including: 

• Hives 
• Breathing difficulties 
• Swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat

Cautions 

Before starting treatment with Combantrin Suspension, inform your doctor if you have any known allergies, particularly to pyrantel or any inactive ingredients within the suspension.

• Severe malnutrition 
• Anemia  

Notify your healthcare provider of all the medicines you are currently taking or plan to start or discontinue, including prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbal products. These substances may potentially influence the effectiveness of Combantrin suspension. 

Refrain from driving or participating in hazardous activities until you have assessed the potential effects of Combantrin Suspension on your body. Your response capabilities may be diminished. 

If you reside with others, consider treating all household members with Combantrin Suspension, as pinworms can easily spread through close contact.  

Pregnant women should only take Combantrin Suspension under the guidance of a medical professional. 

The passage of pyrantel into breast milk is uncertain; therefore, consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding.
