Drug Description

Indications

Spectro Cr Medicated is used to treat and manage small areas of eczema and dermatitis, including atopic eczema, as well as irritant and allergic contact dermatitis.

As a topical corticosteroid, Spectro Cr Medicated works by preventing the skin from overreacting to triggers that lead to flare-ups.

Uses and Dosage

Before initial use and each refill, carefully review the details provided on the packaging of Spectro Cr Medicated. Should you have any questions, seek guidance from your doctor or pharmacist.

Spectro Cr Medicated is intended for use on intact skin only.  Avoid getting it in your eyes, as it may lead to the development of cataracts or glaucoma.

This cream is usually applied twice daily on itchy, red, dry, and inflamed skin for a maximum of 7 days.

For proper application:

  1. Wash and dry your hands thoroughly.
  2. Dispense the cream onto the top of your index finger.
    • A single streak of cream from the top crease to the fingertip constitutes one fingertip unit, sufficient for treating an area equivalent to both sides of one hand.
    • For smaller areas, use half a fingertip unit to cover a patch of skin the size of one palm.
  3. Apply the cream in a thin layer and gently massage into the skin.
  4. Wash your hands again unless they are being treated.

Avoid applying the cream to the groin, genitals, armpits, between the toes, face, or scalp unless under medical supervision.

Do not cover the treated skin with any dressing, gloves, or cling film, as this may lead to increased absorption of the medication and subsequent side effects.

For the best results, stick to the fingertip unit measurement.

Refrain from using the cream for over 7 days and limit usage to no more than ½ tubes (15g) within that time frame.

If your condition gets better within 7 days, stop using Spectro Cr Medicated. However, if it worsens or does not improve within this timeframe, consult a doctor to re-evaluate treatment and diagnosis.
