Drug Description

Indications

Temovate Cream is a prescribed topical medication used to alleviate inflammation and itching associated with plaque psoriasis or skin conditions responsive to steroid treatment, including eczema, dermatitis, allergies, and rashes.

Temovate Cream is a highly potent steroid with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties. While the exact mechanism of its anti-inflammatory action remains unclear, it is believed to function by stimulating natural skin substances to reduce swelling, redness, and itching.

Uses and Dosage

Before using Temovate Cream and with every prescription refill, carefully read its medication guide and patient information leaflet. In case of any inquiries, seek guidance from your physician or pharmacist.

Temovate Cream is intended for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes or mouth, and do not ingest it. Unless specifically instructed by your doctor, refrain from applying this cream to the face, groin, or underarms.

Typically, Temovate Cream is applied to the affected skin areas twice daily as prescribed by the doctor.

To properly use this cream, follow these steps:

  1. Begin by washing and thoroughly drying your hands.
  2. Clean and dry the affected area on your skin.
  3. Follow your doctor’s instructions to apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected area, gently massaging it in.
    • Be cautious when applying it near the eyes to prevent contact, as this could potentially worsen or induce glaucoma.
    • Avoid contact with the nose or mouth. If accidental contact occurs, rinse immediately with ample water.
    • Do not use bandages, covers, or wraps on the treated area unless specifically advised by your doctor.
  4. After application, remember to wash your hands unless you are treating your hands with the medication.

The use of Temovate Cream should not exceed two consecutive weeks, and quantities exceeding 50 grams per week are not recommended for use.

Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve or worsens after two weeks.
