Description

Indications

Tinactin Cream is used for treating common cases of athlete’s foot (tinea pedis) and ringworm (tinea corporis).

Regular daily application of this cream can help prevent athlete’s foot, while also providing effective relief from itching, burning, and cracking.”

As an antifungal medication, Tinactin Cream works by halting the growth of fungi responsible for skin infections.

Uses and Dosage

Before using Tinactin Cream and every time you get a refill, carefully review its medication guide and patient information leaflet. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for guidance if you have any concerns.

Tinactin Cream is intended for topical use only and should not be applied to the eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina.

Typically, this cream is applied to the affected skin area twice daily (morning and night)

as instructed on the product packaging or by your healthcare provider.

To properly use Tinactin Cream, follow these steps:

  1. Begin by cleaning the affected area and ensuring it is completely dry.
  2. Apply a thin layer of the cream over the affected area, extending slightly to the surrounding skin.
    • Unless your doctor advises otherwise, avoid wrapping, covering, or bandaging the treated area.
    • For athlete’s foot, be thorough in applying the cream between the toes, and wear well-fitting, breathable shoes. Change shoes and socks at least once daily.
  3. After applying the cream, remember to wash your hands.

For optimal results, apply Tinactin Cream consistently at the same time each day.

Complete the entire prescribed amount of this medication, regardless of symptom improvement. Prematurely discontinuing treatment may lead to a relapse of the infection, as it allows the fungus to persist and grow.

Notify your doctor if your condition persists beyond 2 weeks of treating jock itch, 4 weeks of treating athlete’s foot or ringworm, or if your condition worsens at any point.
