Drug Description

Indications

Visine Workplace is an ophthalmic solution indicated to alleviate eye redness due to minor irritants like smog, swimming, dust, or smoke.

As a sympathomimetic amine, Visine Workplace works by temporarily constricting the small blood vessels in the eyes. Moreover, it lubricates and protects the eyes against further irritation.

Uses and Dosage

Before the initial use of Visine Workplace and with each refill, carefully read and adhere to the instructions on the packaging or follow your doctor’s directives. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for any questions.

Typically, 1 to 2 drops of Visine Workplace are applied to each eye up to 4 times a day or as prescribed by the doctor. Do not exceed 8 drops per eye within 24 hours.

Before use, visually inspect the solution; refrain from using it if there is a color change or cloudiness. Dispose of it out of reach of children and pets.

Take out contact lenses before applying the eye drop. Allow at least 10 minutes to pass after using this medication before inserting contact lenses.

To properly apply Visine Workplace:

  1. Begin by washing your hands thoroughly.
    • Avoid contamination by not touching the dropper tip or allowing it to contact your eye or any surface.
  2. Tilt your head back and use your index finger to pull down the lower lid, creating a pocket.
  3. Hold the dropper (tip down) close to the eye using the other hand and stabilize the remaining fingers against your face.
  4. While looking up, gently squeeze the dropper to release a single drop into the pocket formed by the lower eyelid. Remove your index finger from the lower eyelid.
  5. Close your eyes for 2 to 3 minutes, tilting your head down as if looking at the floor. Avoid blinking or squeezing your eyelids.
  6. Apply gentle pressure to the tear duct by placing a finger on it.
    • Use a tissue to wipe away any excess liquid from your face.
  7. If more than one drop is needed in the same eye, wait at least 5 minutes before instilling the next drop.
  8. Securely replace the cap on the dropper bottle. Do not wipe or rinse the dropper tip.
  9. Wash your hands thoroughly after each application to remove any residual medication.

Limit the use of Visine Workplace to 3 to 4 days consecutively. Prolonged use may lead to heightened eye redness once the medication wears off (rebound effect). If this happens, inform your doctor.

If your symptoms persist or worsen beyond 72 hours, or if you suspect a serious medical issue, discontinue the use of this eye drop and seek immediate medical assistance.
