Indications 

Gravol Children’s Liquid is a medication commonly used to relieve nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and motion sickness in children. The solution is particularly useful for providing relief from motion sickness. The liquid form of Gravol is designed to be easier for children to take, and it has a great tasting fruit flavor. 

Gravol Children’s Liquid contains the active ingredient dimenhydrinate, which is an antihistamine with antiemetic (anti-nausea) properties. Dimenhydrinate works by blocking the action of histamine, a chemical in the body that can cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. 

Use and Dosage 

Gravol Childrens Liquid comes in the form of to take the liquid orally. You can use a measuring device or spoon specifically designed for accurate dosing. Avoid using a household spoon, as it may not provide the correct dosage. 

The recommended dosage for children aged 6 to 12 years is to take 2 teaspoonfuls of Gravol Children’s Liquid every 6 to 8 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 10 teaspoonfuls in 24 hours. For motion sickness prevention or treatment in children aged 6 to 12 years, the recommended dosage is 1 teaspoonful every 6 to 8 hours, up to a maximum of 3 teaspoonfuls in 24 hours. In addition. Take the first dose of Gravol at least 30 minutes before starting any activity that may cause motion sickness. This dosage is specifically for children and should not be exceeded. 

Use the solution exactly as recommended by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are taking dimenhydrinate regularly and miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you are not sure what to do after missing a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

  • Glaucoma: Gravol Children’s Liquid should not be used if the child has glaucoma, a condition characterized by increased pressure in the eye. 
  • Lung Diseases: Do not use Gravol Children’s Liquid if the child has lung diseases such as bronchitis or emphysema. 
  • Long-term Use: Using large amounts of Gravol for a long time can lead to potential side effects such as depression, confusion, low energy, vomiting, and trouble with urination. Long-term use should be avoided unless specifically directed by a healthcare professional. 
  • Withdrawal Symptoms: Discontinuing Gravol after long-term use can result in withdrawal symptoms such as excitability, weakness, discomfort, poor appetite, stomach cramps, and nausea.
