Drug Description

Indications 

Myoflex Cream Extra Strength is a topical pain reliever indicated for the temporary alleviation of aches and pains associated with arthritis or rheumatism, muscle strains or sprains, backaches, and neck aches. 

Uses and Dosage 

Read and follow the guidelines on the packaging of Myoflex Cream Extra Strength before the initial use, and each time you get a refill. For any inquiries, consult your doctor or pharmacist. 

Myoflex Cream Extra Strength is intended for topical use only. Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina. In case of accidental contact, rinse thoroughly with water. 

Typically, this cream is applied to the affected area 3 to 4 times daily as needed or as directed by your doctor. 

To properly apply this cream: 

  1. Wash your hands first. 
  2. Clean and dry the affected area. 
  3. Apply a generous amount of the cream to the affected skin and gently massage it in. 
  4. After application, wash your hands unless they are part of the treated area. 

Refrain from applying Myoflex Cream Extra Strength on damaged or irritated skin.  

Do not bandage or tightly wrap the treated area, and refrain from applying heat, as it may heighten the risk of side effects.  

Discontinue the use of Myoflex Cream Extra Strength if a rash or irritation develops, if symptoms persist beyond 7 days, if symptoms reoccur, or if the condition worsens. 

Side Effects 

Myoflex Cream Extra Strength does not typically cause side effects; however, discontinue the use of this medication and promptly inform your doctor if you experience serious side effects such as: 

  • Blistering, peeling, redness, or irritation where the cream is applied 
  • Nausea 
  • Vomiting 
  • Ringing in the ears 

Allergic Reactions 

A severe allergic reaction to Myoflex Cream Extra Strength is rare, but seek emergency medical assistance if you experience signs of an allergic reaction, such as: 

  • Rash 
  • Itching or swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat) 
  • Severe dizziness 
  • Trouble breathing

Cautions 

Refrain from using Myoflex Cream Extra Strength if you: 

  • Have an allergy to salicylate or any inactive ingredients in this cream.
