Drug Description

Indications

Gravol Adult Suppository (generically known as Dimenhydrinate) is used for the prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. It is commonly used to prevent and treat motion sickness as well as nausea and vomiting associated with various conditions such as chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. It can also be used to treat nausea and spinning sensations (vertigo) due to Ménière’s disease and other conditions that cause these symptoms.

Gravol Adult Suppository contains Dimenhydrinate as an active substance. Dimenhydrinate belongs to a group of medications called antiemetics. It works by blocking certain receptors in the brain to prevent or reduce nausea, vomiting, and dizziness associated with motion sickness.

Use and Dosage

To use Gravol Adult Suppository (Dimenhydrinate), follow these general instructions:

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
  2. Remove the suppository from its foil wrapper.
  3. If needed, you can dip the tip of the suppository in water or apply a small amount of water-based lubricant to help with insertion.
  4. Find a comfortable position, such as lying on your side with your knees bent.
  5. Gently insert the pointed end of the suppository into your rectum, using your finger or the applicator provided with the suppository.
  6. Push the suppository into your rectum until it is fully inserted.
  7. Stay in your position for a few minutes to allow the suppository to dissolve.
  8. Wash your hands again after use.

If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you are not sure what to do after missing a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
