Drug Description

Indications

Ceftin Oral Suspension is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate throat, tonsilitis, ear, and skin infections caused by susceptible bacteria in pediatric patients aged 3 months to 12 years old.

As a cephalosporin antibiotic, Ceftin Oral Suspension functions by inhibiting bacterial growth.

Uses and Dosage

Before giving Ceftin Oral Suspension to a child and with every prescription refill, carefully read the accompanying medication guide and patient information leaflet. For questions or concerns, do not hesitate to consult your doctor or pharmacist.

The dosage of Ceftin Oral Suspension is determined based on the child’s weight, medical condition, and response to the treatment.

Typically, this medication is taken twice daily (every 12 hours), with food, for 10 days as prescribed by a doctor.

Ensure thorough shaking of the bottle before each dose and accurately measure the dosage using a designated medication spoon/cup, not a household spoon.

For optimal results, administer Ceftin Oral Suspension consistently at regular intervals, ideally at the same time(s) daily.

Complete the entire prescribed course of this medication, even if symptoms improve within a few days. Premature discontinuation may permit bacterial growth, potentially leading to infection recurrence.
