Drug Description

Indications

Vaniqa Cream is a prescription medicine indicated for the reduction of unwanted facial and chin hair in women.

As a miscellaneous topical product, Vaniqa Cream works by inhibiting a specific enzyme essential for skin hair growth. This action decelerates hair growth and could potentially result in finer and lighter hair texture.

Uses and Dosage

Before using Vaniqa Cream and with every prescription refill, carefully review its medication guide and patient information leaflet. If you have concerns, do not hesitate to contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Vaniqa Cream is intended solely for topical application and should not be used in the eyes, mouth, or vagina. Avoid applying it to cuts, burns, dry or irritated skin.

Typically, Vaniqa Cream is applied twice daily to the affected facial and chin regions, with at least an 8-hour interval between applications.

To properly use this cream, follow these steps:

  1. Before application, remove facial hair using your preferred method (razor, tweezers, etc.). Wait for at least 5 minutes before applying Vaniqa Cream.
  2. Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the cream.
  3. Apply a thin layer of the cream to all affected areas on your face or under your chin, ensuring thorough rubbing as instructed by your doctor.
    • Ensure the cream doesn’t come into contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. If it does, rinse immediately with clean water. If it gets in your eyes, rinse thoroughly and contact your doctor.
  4. After application, wash your hands immediately.
  5. Refrain from washing the treated areas for at least 4 hours after application.

Before applying cosmetics or sunscreen to the treated areas, ensure that the cream is completely dry.

Vaniqa Cream should be used according to the prescribed instructions at a consistent time every day. Avoid exceeding the recommended dosage or frequency, as it will not expedite improvement and may heighten the likelihood of adverse reactions.

Inform your doctor if your skin becomes red or irritated. Your doctor might advise reducing the application to once daily or discontinuing the medication.

Discontinue the use of Vaniqa Cream if the desired outcomes are not achieved within 6 months.
