Description

Indications

Zostrix HP is indicated for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains of muscles and joints associated with arthritis, simple backache, strains, and sprains.

As a topical analgesic, Zostrix HP works by affecting skin nerve cells connected to pain, leading to diminished nerve cell activity and a decreased perception of pain.

Uses and Dosage

Zostrix HP is intended for topical use only. Avoid applying it to wounds or areas with damaged or irritated skin.

Adhere to the instructions provided on the product packaging and read thoroughly the accompanying patient information leaflet or medication guide. Do not hesitate to consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.

Typically, Zostrix HP is applied to the affected skin area 3 to 4 times daily.

To properly apply the cream:

  1. Wash hands before applying the cream.
    •  You may consider using a cotton ball, swab, or latex glove to apply the cream to prevent contact with your hands.
  2. Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected area and gently massage it in until completely absorbed.
  3. If the treated area is in your hands, allow a minimum of 30 minutes before washing them after applying the medication. Otherwise, promptly wash your hands with soap and water after use.

Refrain from applying Zostrix HP to sensitive areas such as the eyes, mouth, nostrils, or genitals. In case of accidental exposure in these regions, flush generously with water.

Avoid using this cream right before or after activities like bathing, swimming, sunbathing, or vigorous exercise.

Refrain from bandaging or wrapping the treated area or using a heating pad on it, as these actions could heighten the potential for side effects.

Use Zostrix HP regularly at the same times every day for maximum effectiveness.

Inform your healthcare provider if your condition persists beyond 7 days, worsens, or recurs. Seek immediate medical assistance if you suspect a serious medical issue.
