Drug Description

Indications

Tindamax is a prescribed medication indicated for the treatment of:

  • Trichomoniasis (a sexually transmitted disease affecting both men and women).
  • Giardiasis (an intestinal infection causing symptoms like diarrhea, gas, and stomach cramps) in patients aged 3 and above.
  • Amebiasis (an intestinal infection leading to diarrhea, gas, stomach cramps, and potential organ spread like the liver) in patients aged 3 and above.
  • Bacterial vaginosis (an infection resulting from an overgrowth of harmful vaginal bacteria) in non-pregnant adult women.

Classified as a nitroimidazole antimicrobial, Tindamax works by inhibiting the growth of specific bacteria and parasites responsible for infections.

Uses and Dosage

Before taking Tindamax and with every prescription refill, carefully review its medication guide and patient information leaflet. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for guidance if you have any questions.

The dosage of this antibiotic is determined based on the patient’s medical condition and response to the treatment, including weight for children.

Typically, Tindamax is prescribed to be taken once daily with a meal to minimize the risk of stomach upset.

For optimal results, take this antibiotic at evenly spaced intervals. To facilitate compliance, take this medication at the same designated time(s) each day.

Complete the full prescribed course of Tindamax, even if symptoms improve quickly. Prematurely discontinuing this antibiotic may lead to a recurrence of the infection.
