Drug Description

Indications

Copper T IUD 380A is indicated for preventing pregnancy in women capable of reproduction for a maximum of 10 years.

This contraceptive device functions by consistently emitting copper, which impedes sperm transportation and egg fertilization and potentially prevents implantation.

Uses and Dosage

Before using Copper T IUD 380A, carefully read the patient information leaflet provided by your pharmacist. Seek guidance from your doctor or pharmacist for any clarifications needed.

Copper T IUD 380A is a small, flexible device inserted into the uterus by a healthcare professional in a clinical setting. It can remain in place for up to 10 years, but it can be removed at any time by a healthcare professional if you wish to become pregnant.

Once the device is inserted, arrange a follow-up appointment after your initial menstrual period to ensure it remains correctly positioned.

Periodically, Copper T IUD 380A may shift or dislodge. It is advisable to perform monthly self-checks to ensure proper positioning. You can find guidance on how to conduct these checks in the patient information leaflet or from your healthcare provider.

If the device dislodges or if you are unable to feel the threads, promptly contact your doctor and use backup contraception (like condoms or spermicide) until directed otherwise by your doctor.

Copper T IUD 380A should be taken out within 10 years from the insertion date. If ongoing contraception is needed, it can be replaced with a new one during the removal procedure.
