Indications 

This pharmaceutical formulation comprises an exogenous estrogen hormone primarily intended for female patients. Upon transdermal application, it undergoes systemic absorption and enters the circulatory system. Its therapeutic utilization alleviates a specific menopausal symptom, namely hot flashes, among women.  

The manifestation of menopausal symptoms can be attributed to the body’s diminished endogenous production of estrogen. For instances where estrogen therapy solely aims to address vaginal symptoms associated with menopause, such as vaginal dryness, burning, or itching, prioritize products administered intravaginally over orally ingested, transdermally absorbed, or injectable medications. 

Uses and Dosage 

Management of vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause in the moderate to severe range represents the primary indication for this therapeutic intervention. The prescribed dosage is contingent upon individual medical considerations and treatment response. Adhere strictly to the prescribed dose and refrain from augmenting it or increasing the frequency of medication usage beyond the recommended guidelines. 

In cases where estrogen therapy is prescribed for postmenopausal women with an intact uterus, concurrent administration of a progestin agent should be duly considered to mitigate the risk of endometrial cancer. Conversely, women who have undergone hysterectomy do not necessitate progestin supplementation. However, there may be instances where hysterectomized individuals with a history of endometriosis would benefit from adding a progestin agent to their treatment regimen.

• Unrelenting nausea/vomiting 
• Alterations in mental or mood states, such as:  
  • Depression  
  • Memory loss 
• Breast lumps 
• Abnormal vaginal bleeding, such as:  
  • Spotting 
  • Breakthrough bleeding 
  • Prolonged or recurrent bleeding 
• Heightened or new vaginal irritation/itching/odor/discharge 
• Intense stomach or abdominal pain 
• Jaundice (yellowing of the eyes or skin) 
• Dark-colored urine 
• Swelling in the hands/ankles/feet 
• Increased thirst/urination
