Drug Description

Indications

Polysporin Complete Ointment is an over counter antibiotic ointment used to soothe and speed up the healing process of minor cuts, scrapes, and burns. It is its fast-acting pain relief that provides instant relief from pain and discomfort caused by minor skin injuries. Additionally, the ointment contains a Heal-Fast Formula, which helps speed up the healing process and reduce the risk of scarring.

The ointment’s active ingredients include Polymyxin B Sulfate, Bacitracin Zinc, and Gramicidin. These ingredients work together to prevent infection and promote healing.

Use and Dosage

Apply the ointment 1 to 3 times daily, or as directed by your healthcare provider. The length of treatment will depend on the severity of the infection and your individual response to the medication. Here are the general steps for using Polysporin Complete Ointment:

  1. Clean the affected area with soap and water, and pat dry.
  2. Apply a thin layer of Polysporin Complete Ointment to the affected area.
  3. Cover the area with a sterile bandage or dressing, if desired.
  4. Wash your hands thoroughly after applying the ointment.

Apply the Ointment exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue with your regular schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Be sure to follow your healthcare provider’s instructions and complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve. If symptoms worsen or do not improve after a few days of treatment, contact your healthcare provider.
