Description

Indications

Phazyme is indicated for alleviating symptoms associated with excessive gas in the stomach and intestines, including bloating, pressure, and fullness.

As an anti-gas medication, Phazyme works by lowering the surface tension of gas bubbles in the stomach, facilitating their dispersion or formation into larger masses that can be expelled more easily from the gastrointestinal tract.

Uses and Dosage

Before taking Phazyme and every time you get a refill, carefully review its medication guide and patient information leaflet.

Adhere to the instructions provided on the product package. If your doctor has prescribed this medication, follow their directions. Should you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

The appropriate dosage of Phazyme may vary based on age, medical condition, and treatment response. Adhere to the prescribed dose and frequency, avoiding any self-increases or excessive use beyond the recommended amount for your age.

Typically, Phazyme is taken as needed after meals and at bedtime, with a recommended dosage of 1 or 2 gel capsules.

Do not exceed 2 gel capsules within 24 hours unless advised and supervised by a physician.

Promptly seek medical assistance if your condition persists, deteriorates, or if you suspect a significant medical concern.

Side Effects

Phazyme typically does not cause any side effects. In case of any uncommon reactions, promptly reach out to your doctor or pharmacist.

Not all side effects of Phazyme are included in this list. Inform your doctor right away if any unlisted effects occur.

Cautions

Before starting treatment with Phazyme, talk to your doctor if you have any known allergies, particularly to simethicone or other medications.

Seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist if you have any health issues before taking Phazyme.

Phazyme can be influenced by other medications, both prescription and over the counter, as well as vitamins and herbal products. Inform your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are currently taking or planning to initiate or discontinue.

Consult your doctor before using any antacid, and strictly adhere to the type they recommend, as certain antacids may include Phazyme.

Phazyme reduces the absorption of thyroid medications. To ensure proper absorption, separate the intake of thyroid medication and Phazyme for at least 4 hours.
