Derma Smooth/FS Oil Eczema is a body oil indicated for the treatment of atopic dermatitis, a type of eczema.
Classified as a corticosteroid, Derma Smooth/FS Oil Eczema works by stimulating natural skin substances to diminish swelling, redness, and itching.
Uses and Dosage
Before the initial use and with each prescription refill, carefully read and adhere to the instructions on the Derma Smooth/FS Oil Eczema packaging. Should you have any questions or concerns, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Derma Smooth/FS Oil Eczema is intended for topical use only and should not be used orally, ophthalmically, or intravaginally.
Refrain from applying this body oil on the face, underarms, or groin area unless instructed by your doctor.
The usual regimen for this body oil is outlined below; however, if your doctor prescribes a different approach, adhere to their instructions strictly:
- For adult patients: Apply the oil to affected areas three times daily.
- For pediatric patients (3 months and older): Moisturize the skin and apply to affected areas twice daily for a maximum of four weeks.
To properly apply Derma Smooth/FS Oil Eczema:
- Shake the oil bottle thoroughly before each use.
- Wash and dry your hands before application.
- Clean and dry the affected area.
- Apply a thin oil film to the affected area and gently massage it.
- Do not bandage, cover, or wrap the treated area unless specifically instructed by your doctor.
- After applying the oil, wash your hands unless the area to be treated is in the hands.
Prevent contact of this body oil with the eyes, nose, or mouth. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with ample water.
Do not apply this body oil to skin folds and diaper areas.
Use Derma Smooth/FS Oil Eczema only for the prescribed condition and refrain from prolonged use beyond the prescribed duration.
Side Effects

- Mild skin itching, burning, dryness, or irritation
- Temporary hair loss
- Swollen hair follicles
- Blisters, pimples, or crusting of treated skin
- Changes in the color of treated skin
- Skin rash or irritation around the mouth
- Fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose
- Red spots or the appearance of tiny veins, particularly around the nose, cheeks, or chin
Tell your doctor promptly if these common side effects last or worsen.
Discontinue the use of Derma Smooth/FS Oil Eczema and promptly contact your doctor if you experience severe irritation on any treated skin or exhibit signs of systemic absorption, including:
- Blurred vision, headache
- Thinning skin, easy bruising
- Mood changes
- Weight gain, facial puffiness
- Muscle weakness, fatigue
Allergic Reactions
Seek immediate medical assistance if you exhibit signs of an allergic reaction, including
- Hives
- Difficulty breathing
- Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat

Cautions
Before starting treatment with Derma Smooth/FS Oil Eczema, inform your doctor if you have any allergies, particularly to fluocinolone, corticosteroids (like hydrocortisone, prednisone), or any inactive ingredients in this body oil (such as peanut oil).
Before using Derma Smooth/FS Oil Eczema, provide your doctor with your medical history and disclose the use of other medications, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
Avoid the application of Derma Smooth/FS Oil Eczema on areas with infections or sores, as it may exacerbate skin infections. Promptly inform your doctor if there is no improvement in redness, swelling, or irritation.
Children may absorb higher quantities of Derma Smooth/FS Oil Eczema through the skin, increasing the likelihood of side effects or potential growth delays with prolonged use. Consult your doctor if you observe any signs of abnormal growth in your child during extended treatment.
The potential impact of Derma Smooth/FS Oil Eczema on an unborn baby is uncertain. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to conceive while using this body oil.
Prior to breastfeeding, consult your doctor for guidance as the transfer of fluocinolone into breast milk and its potential harm to a nursing baby are unknown. Refrain from applying this body oil to your chest area if you are breastfeeding.
