Drug Description

Indications

Dovonex Solution is a prescription medicine used for the management of chronic and moderately severe scalp psoriasis.

Dovonex Solution is a synthetic topical vitamin D derivative. Its exact anti-psoriasis mechanism remains not fully understood but is thought to alleviate inflamed and scaly regions by inhibiting the overproduction of skin cells.

Uses and Dosage

Before using Dovonex Solution and with each prescription refill, thoroughly review the product package and accompanying patient information leaflet. If you have any queries or need additional information, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Dovonex Solution is intended solely for topical dermatological application and should not be used in the eyes, mouth, or vagina.

Typically, this solution is applied twice daily to the scalp lesions only as prescribed by the doctor.

To properly apply this solution:

  1. Begin by thoroughly washing your hands.
  2. Comb your hair to eliminate any loose psoriasis scales.
  3. Create a part in your hair close to the affected regions.
  4. Apply a small quantity of the solution to the lesions, avoiding contact with your forehead or other facial areas, particularly around the eyes, nose, or mouth.
  5. Gently massage the solution into the lesions.
  6. Wash hands after application.

For optimal results, use Dovonex Solution exactly as directed, preferably around the same times of the day daily. Do not use more of this solution or use it more often or for longer than prescribed by your doctor.

Dovonex Solution is flammable. Avoid using this solution close to heat sources or open flames, such as cigarettes.

Inform your doctor of your pregnancy or intention to become pregnant. Discuss the potential advantages and risks of Dovonex Solution for you and your unborn child.
