Drug Description

Indications

Gravol Adult Chewables are a medication that provides fast relief of nausea, vomiting, and dizziness due to motion sickness. They come in chewable tablet form and have a great-tasting orange flavor. Gravol Adult Chewables contain dimenhydrinate as the active ingredient.

Dimenhydrinate is an antihistamine that works by blocking the effects of histamine in the body. Histamine is a chemical released by the body in response to certain triggers, such as motion sickness. By blocking the effects of histamine, dimenhydrinate helps to alleviate symptoms of nausea, vomiting, and dizziness.

Use and Dosage

Gravol Adult Chewable Tablets can be taken with or without food. Take the tablets by mouth and either chew them thoroughly before swallowing or allow them to dissolve in your mouth. If you are using Gravol Adult Chewable Tablets for motion sickness, take the first dose approximately 30 to 60 minutes before the activity that may cause motion sickness, such as traveling.

Determine the appropriate dosage based on your age, weight, and the severity of your symptoms. The recommended dosage for adults is usually 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 8 tablets per 24 hours. Do not exceed the recommended duration of use. If your symptoms persist or worsen, or if you have any concerns, consult with a healthcare professional. However, follow the specific instructions provided by the manufacturer or your healthcare provider.

Use the tablet exactly as recommended by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are taking dimenhydrinate regularly and miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you are not sure what to do after missing a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
