Description

Indications

Invega is a prescribed drug intended for treating schizophrenia in both the acute and maintenance stages.

Invega may also be used for the treatment of schizoaffective disorder, either as a monotherapy or as an adjunctive therapy in combination with mood stabilizers or antidepressants.

As an atypical antipsychotic agent, Invega is believed to restore the brain’s balance of dopamine and serotonin. This action reduces hallucinations, improves the clarity of thought and positive self-perception, decreases agitation, and increases participation in daily activities.

Uses and Dosage

Before taking Invega, and whenever you get a refill, carefully review its medication guide and patient information leaflet. If you have any questions or clarification, consult your physician or pharmacist.

The dosage of Invega is individualized based on the patient’s age, medical condition, and response to the treatment. It is usually taken orally once daily with sufficient water or liquid as prescribed by the doctor, irrespective of meals.

The tablets should be ingested whole and not crushed, chewed, or split, as this can cause the drug to be released too rapidly, elevating the possibility of adverse effects. Inform your physician if you are unable to swallow tablets, as an alternative medication may be prescribed for your treatment.

Discuss your treatment progress with your doctor and inform them if your symptoms persist. Your doctor may increase your dose gradually, but no more than once every five days if your symptoms are still distressing.

Take Invega exactly as directed. Refrain from altering the dosage or frequency of intake without medical guidance.

To achieve optimal results, take Invega regularly around the same time daily. Do not discontinue intake without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better.
