Drug Description

Indications

Monistat 3 Dual-Pak Combination Pack is a medication used to treat vaginal yeast infections. It contains miconazole nitrate, an antifungal agent that works by stopping the growth of yeast. The combination pack typically includes a vaginal cream and suppositories that are inserted into the vagina.

The pack typically includes three vaginal suppository inserts, which contain the antifungal medication miconazole nitrate. These inserts are inserted into the vagina to treat the yeast infection. In addition to the suppository inserts, the pack also includes an external cream called MONISTAT Derm. This cream is applied to the external genital area (vulva) to provide relief from itching and irritation.

Use and Dosage

Monistat 3 Dual-Pak Combination Pack is typically used for relief of internal and external vaginal itching, burning, and discharge. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are using the medication without consulting your doctor.

Before using the medication, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water to ensure cleanliness.

  • For the suppository, unwrap it from its packaging and insert it into the vagina using the applicator provided. Follow the instructions on how far to insert the suppository. After use, dispose of the applicators as instructed. Some may be designed for single use and should be discarded properly.
  • For the cream, squeeze the appropriate amount onto your fingertip or applicator, as indicated in the instructions. Gently insert the applicator into the vagina and release the cream. Again, follow the instructions on how far to insert the applicator.

If you miss a dose of Monistat 3 Dual-Pak Combination Pack, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to the time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
