Indications 

Nix Cream Rinse with Comb is used for the treatment of head lice, which are small insects that infest and cause irritation to the scalp. 

Classified as pyrethrins, Nix Cream Rinse with Comb works by immobilizing and eliminating lice along with their nits (eggs). 

Uses and Dosage 

Before using Nix Cream Rinse with Comb for the first time, and each time you get a refill, carefully read and adhere to the instructions provided on the packaging and enclosed leaflet. If you have any questions or concerns, consult your doctor or pharmacist. 

Nix Cream Rinse with Comb is for external use only and is meant for a single application to prevent the return of lice for 14 days. 

To properly use this cream rinse: 

1. Begin by washing your hair with a conditioner-free shampoo to ensure optimal effectiveness of the cream rinse. 
2. After shampooing, rinse your hair with water and towel dry it. 
3. Apply the cream rinse, thoroughly saturating the hair, scalp, behind the ears, and the back of the neck. 
4. Avoid contact with the eyes and leave the cream rinse in for 10 minutes to eradicate lice and nits.  
   • A washcloth or towel can be used to prevent any solution from getting into the eyes. 
   • In case of cream rinse contact with the eyes, promptly rinse with plenty of water. 
5. After 10 minutes, rinse the hair with warm water. 
6. Use the provided comb to remove lice and nits. 
   • Clean the comb during use by wiping off nits with a tissue.  
   • Dispose of the tissue in a sealed plastic bag to prevent the potential return of lice. 
7. Thoroughly rinse your hair with warm water after removing lice and nits. 

After using Nix Cream Rinse, sanitize recently used clothing, underwear, pajamas, hats, sheets, pillowcases, and towels by washing them in hot water or dry-cleaning. 

Furthermore, wash combs, brushes, hair clips, and other personal care items in hot water. 

If live lice are still present 7 days or more after the initial treatment, consider a second treatment with Nix Cream Rinse with Comb or an alternative medication. 

Side Effects 

Common Side Effects 

• Mild burning, stinging, itching, or a mild rash 
• Numbness or tingling at the application site 
• Headache, dizziness 
• Fever 
• Stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea 

Consult your doctor if any of the following common side effects persist or worsen. 

Serious Side Effects 

• Severe burning, stinging, redness, or swelling after using the cream rinse 

Seek immediate medical help if serious side effects occur. 

Allergic Reactions 

Seek immediate medical assistance if you experience signs of an allergic reaction to Nix Cream Rinse, such as: 

• Hives 
• Difficulty breathing 
• Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat

Cautions 

Consult a doctor before using Nix Cream Rinse with Comb if: 

• You have a ragweed allergy (this product may lead to respiratory issues or an asthma attack) 
• You are pregnant 
• You are breastfeeding 

Excessive or vigorous scratching of the skin on the scalp can result in a bacterial skin infection. Notify your doctor immediately if you experience increased redness or discharge.
