Drug Description

Indications

The Accu-Chek FastClix system consists of a lancing device and pre-loaded lancets that are used for blood glucose testing. It is designed to provide a convenient and hygienic way to obtain a small blood sample for glucose testing.

The lancet drum contains 6 pre-loaded lancets, eliminating the need to handle individual lancets. The lancing device allows for customizable depth settings to ensure a comfortable and accurate blood sampling experience.

Accu-Chek FastClix Lancing Device Features

  • 1-Click action for a quick and easy finger prick
  • Hygienic, since used lancets are stored in the drum
  • Virtually pain free
  • 11 penetration depth setting
  • Penetration range: 0.7 to 2.2 mm
  • The drum holds 6 lancets that automatically retract into the drum after use. Once the drum has been removed from the lancing device it cannot be reused.
  • Latex free

Use and Dosage

The Accu-Chek FastClix lancing device is a 1-click lancing device with a drum of 6 preloaded lancets. Also, it is designed for comfort.

To use the Accu-Chek FastClix lancing device, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the cap from the lancing device.
  2. Insert the drum, white end first, ensuring it is pushed all the way in. Each drum typically contains 6 pre-set lancets.
  3. Place the cap back on the lancing device.
  4. Set the penetration depth by turning the dial to match your individual skin type
  5. Place the device against your fingertip or an alternate site (if applicable).
  6. Press the button on top of the device all the way down to activate the lancet and obtain a blood sample.
  7. After each use, push the white lever back and forth once to refresh to a new lancet.
  8. The number displayed on the device indicates how many lancets you have left before you need to replace the drum.

Note that the Accu-Chek FastClix lancing device is typically used with the Accu-Chek FastClix lancets, which come preloaded in the drum. The lancets are not in strip form, but rather in a drum format for convenience and ease of use.

Cautions

  • Use lancets and test strips as directed: follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer for the specific lancet and test strip system you are using. Ensure that you understand how to properly use and dispose of lancets and test strips.
  • Do not reuse lancets: Lancets are designed for single-use only. Reusing lancets can increase the risk of infection and may cause pain or discomfort.
  • Properly dispose of lancets and test strips: Used lancets and test strips should be disposed of in a puncture-resistant container. Follow local regulations for safe disposal.
  • Store lancets and test strips properly: Keep lancets and test strips in a cool, dry place, and avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures or humidity.
  • Check for damage or defects: Before using lancets and test strips, visually inspect them for any signs of damage or defects. Do not use them if they appear damaged or expired.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets: Lancets and test strips are sharp objects and should be kept away from children and pets to avoid accidental injury.
