Drug Description

Norpace is a prescription medicine indicated for the treatment of life-threatening irregular heartbeats, including sustained ventricular tachycardia.

As an anti-arrhythmic drug, Norpace functions by inhibiting certain cardiac electrical signals responsible for an irregular heartbeat. This mechanism of action facilitates the restoration of normal heart rhythm and the maintenance of a consistent and steady heartbeat.

Uses and Dosage

Before taking Norpace and with each prescription refill, carefully review its medication guide and patient information leaflet. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or clarifications.

Norpace dosage is individualized based on the patient’s age, medical condition, and response to the treatment.

Typically, this medication is taken 4 times daily (every 6 hours) as prescribed by the doctor, without regard to food intake.

For optimal results, take Norpace at a consistent time each day, exactly as directed. Refrain from altering the prescribed dosage, frequency, or duration of intake without consulting your doctor.

Continue taking Norpace even if you are feeling better. Consult with your doctor before discontinuing the medication.

The efficacy of Norpace can be altered by other drugs that impact its elimination from the body, such as phenytoin and saquinavir.

Exercise caution when taking Norpace, as it can potentially lead to blurred vision and impair cognitive function and reflexes. Engage in activities such as driving or tasks that demand attentiveness and clear vision with care.
