Indications 

Syringe BD Needle Integra is a retractable syringe designed to minimize needle exposure post-activation.  

It features a wide flange for stability and comfort, a transparent barrel for precise dosing, and a detachable needle for medication aspiration and administration.  

Moreover, Syringe BD Needle Integra incorporates BD PrecisionGlide Needle Technology to enhance patient comfort and Tru-Lok Technology for minimal wasted space and secure connections. 

Uses and Dosage 

BD Integra syringe is compatible only with the BD Integra 18-gauge blunt fill needle for filling and the BD Integra needle for administration. 

To properly use Syringe BD Needle Integra: 

1. Attach the BD Integra needle to the BD Integra syringe by pushing and twisting it clockwise.  
   • If the needle is already attached, ensure it’s securely tightened before use. 
2. Remove the shield from the needle. 
3. Draw up the medication following the established protocol. 
4. Administer the medication according to the established protocol, ensuring all medication is dispensed. 
5. Push the plunger rod to activate the safety mechanism. Continue pushing until you feel two distinct “clicks.”  
   • The activation can be done before or after withdrawing the needle from the patient. 
   • If activating before withdrawing the needle, avoid advancing it further into the patient as the plunger is depressed. 
6. Once activated, the needle will retract into the syringe, and the plunger will be recessed into the barrel.  
   • Immediately discard the syringe into the nearest sharps container.

When using the Syringe BD Needle Integra, adhere to the aseptic technique and ensure proper skin preparation at the injection site. Furthermore, follow your institution’s policy for the safe disposal of all medical waste.
