Drug Description

Indications

Airduo Respiclick is a fixed-dose combination inhaler containing fluticasone and salmeterol indicated for treating asthma in patients 12 years old and above.

Fluticasone is a corticosteroid that reduces airway irritation and inflammation, while salmeterol is a long-acting beta-agonist (LABA) that relaxes the airway muscles, allowing for easier breathing.

Airduo Respiclick is intended for patients whose asthma is not adequately managed by a long-term control medication, such as an inhaled corticosteroid, or those who require combination treatment with an inhaled corticosteroid and LABA.

Airduo Respiclick is not intended as a rescue medication and is ineffective for the prompt treatment of asthma or bronchospasm attacks. In such cases, adhere to the prescribed regimen for quick-relief inhalers, such as albuterol.

Uses and Dosage

Before using Airduo Respiclick and with each prescription refill, carefully read its medication guide and patient information leaflet. In case of any inquiries, consult your physician or pharmacist.

The dosing of Airduo Respiclick is determined by individual medical conditions and treatment response. Typically, it is used twice daily, 12 hours apart in the morning and evening.

To use the inhaler, follow these steps:

  1. Open
    1. Hold the inhaler upright and fully open the yellow cap until it “clicks.”
    2. Each “click” indicates that one dose is ready for inhalation.
    3. To ensure proper usage, maintain an upright position while opening the yellow cap.
    4. Do not hold or manipulate the inhaler in any other manner while opening the yellow cap.
    5. Avoid opening the yellow cap until you are prepared to administer a dose.
  2. Inhale
    1. Exhale completely through your mouth before inhalation.
    2. Avoid exhaling into the mouthpiece of the inhaler.
    3. Place the inhaler’s mouthpiece in your mouth and seal your lips around it tightly.
    4. Avoid obstructing the vent above the mouthpiece with your fingers or lips.
    5. Inhale deeply and rapidly through your mouth to deliver the medication to your lungs.
    6. Take the inhaler out of your mouth.
    7. Hold your breath for approximately 10 seconds, or as long as it is comfortable.
    8. Airduo Respiclick delivers a fine powder medication that may or may not be noticeable in taste or sensation. Do not administer an extra dosage, regardless of whether you feel or taste the medicine.
  3. Close
    1. Close the yellow cap securely over the mouthpiece.
    2. Ensure that you close the yellow cap after each inhalation to prepare for the next dose.
    3. Rinse your mouth with water after each inhalation without swallowing.

When using other inhalers concurrently, allow at least one minute between each medication’s usage and use Airduo Respiclick as the last inhaler.

Use Airduo Respiclick regularly around the same time daily, exactly as prescribed, for optimal results. Refrain from altering the dose and frequency of use or discontinuing its use without consulting your doctor.
