Description
IndicationsÂ
Polysporin Eye and Ear Drops are a sterile treatment for external eye and ear infections. It is used to treat certain types of infections caused by bacteria. These drops are not typically used for general eye or ear care, but rather for specific therapeutic purposes.Â
Polysporin Eye and Ear Drops contain a combination of antibiotics, including polymyxin B sulfate and gramicidin. These antibiotics work by stopping the growth of bacteria and treating certain types of bacterial infections in the external eye and ear.Â
When applied to the affected area, Polysporin Eye and Ear Drops target and kill the bacteria responsible for the infection. Polymyxin B sulfate disrupts the outer membrane of bacterial cells, causing them to leak and eventually die. Gramicidin interferes with the bacterial cell membrane, disrupting its function and leading to cell death.Â
