Uses and Dosage

For administering acetaminophen to children, use products specifically formulated for children. Determine the appropriate dosage for your child by utilizing their weight as provided on the product packaging. If the child’s weight is unavailable, use their age as a guide. 

Pain medication works best when used immediately after the first signs of pain are experienced. Delayed administration may result in decreased efficacy of the medicine. 

Side effects 

Allergic Reactions

If you exhibit signs of an allergic reaction to Tylenol, seek emergency medical attention promptly. These may include:

• Difficulty breathing 
• Swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat 

Severe Side Effects

Although uncommon, acetaminophen may cause a severe skin reaction, which can be fatal, even if you have previously taken Tylenol without any adverse effects. 

In case of skin redness or a rash that spreads and results in blistering and peeling, stop taking the medication immediately and contact your physician without delay. 

Stop taking this medicine and call your doctor at once if you have signs of liver problems:

• Loss of appetite 
• Tiredness or itching 
• Dark urine or clay-colored stools 
• Jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes) 

Cautions 

Without consulting a physician, the medication should not be used for more than three days for fever and ten days for pain in adults (five days in children). If a child experiences a sore throat accompanied by a high fever, headache, or nausea/vomiting, prompt consultation with a healthcare provider is necessary. 

If the condition persists or worsens or new symptoms arise, notify your healthcare provider immediately. In case of a severe medical condition, seek immediate medical attention.
