Drug Description

Solifenacin is an antispasmodic medication that is prescribed for the treatment of overactive bladder.

Its mechanism of action involves the relaxation of bladder muscles, which leads to an improvement in urinary control. This medication is effective in reducing episodes of urinary leakage, urgency, and frequency.

Uses and Dosage

Before starting to use solifenacin, read the Patient Information Leaflet provided by your pharmacist. If you have any questions, feel free to consult your doctor or pharmacist.

This medication should be taken orally, with or without food, as directed by your physician, typically once a day, and with a full glass of liquid. Swallow the tablet whole since the powder in the tablet can have a bitter taste.

To gain the maximum benefits of this medication, use it regularly. Take it at the same time each day to help you remember.

The dosage of this medication is determined by your medical condition, treatment response, and other medications you may be taking. The children’s dose is determined by weight. Ensure that you inform your doctor and pharmacist about all the products you use, including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products.

Do not increase the dosage or use this medication more frequently or for a longer period than prescribed. It will not improve your condition any faster, and your risk of side effects will increase.
