Description

Indications

Orgalutran is an Injection medication used to prevent premature ovulation (early release of eggs from the ovary) during controlled ovarian stimulation in women undergoing fertility treatment.

Orgalutran contains the active ingredient ganirelix. Ganirelix belongs to the class of medications known as gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonists. It blocks the effects of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH).

Use and Dosage

Orgalutran Injection is available as a solution for injection in a pre-filled syringe. It can be self-administered at home if you have been properly trained by a healthcare professional. The usual dose is the contents of one pre-filled syringe of Orgalutran once a day on specific days of the menstrual cycle, as directed by a doctor.

To use Orgalutran Injection, first, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Next, prepare the injection site by cleaning it with an alcohol swab. Remove the protective cap from the pre-filled syringe and hold the syringe at a 45-degree angle to the skin. Pinch the skin at the injection site and insert the needle into the skin. Slowly inject the medication and remove the needle from the skin. Dispose of the syringe in a sharps container.

Use the Injection exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If you are more than 6 hours late (the time between 2 injections is longer than 30 hours), give the dose as soon as possible and contact your doctor for further instruction. Do not inject a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
