Drug Description

Indications

Cambia is classified as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces pain and inflammation in the body by decreasing the production of certain substances.

Cambia oral powder is specifically intended for adults aged 18 years and above for the treatment of migraine headache attacks, with or without aura.

This is not used as a preventive measure for migraine headaches, nor to treat cluster headaches.

Cambia only works to alleviate a headache that has already started and does not prevent headaches or reduce the frequency of attacks.

Uses and Dosage

Before taking diclofenac, carefully read the Medication Guide provided by your pharmacist. If you have any doubts, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Take this medicine by mouth, exactly as prescribed by your physician. Refrain from increasing the dose on your own in case you do not experience relief, and instead, talk to your doctor. Cambia, as per the manufacturer, must not be taken more than once in case of a migraine attack.

Empty the contents of one packet into a cup containing 1 to 2 ounces (30 to 60 milliliters) of water, stir well and drink immediately. Do not mix it with any other liquid apart from water. If stomach discomfort occurs, take it with food, milk, or antacids. However, if you take this medication with a high-fat meal, its efficacy might be reduced.

To minimize the risk of stomach bleeding and other adverse effects, take this medication at the lowest effective dose. Do not exceed the prescribed dose or take it more frequently than prescribed.

Disclose any prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products that you are taking, as they may interact with Cambia.

While on this treatment, monitor for any signs of an allergic reaction. You should not take this oral medication if you have a known allergy to diclofenac, aspirin, other NSAIDs, or any inactive ingredients contained in it. Symptoms of hypersensitivity may include itching, swelling, skin rashes, severe dizziness, and breathing difficulties. In case of such symptoms, you must contact your local medical emergency line.

When taking NSAIDs, the risk of kidney problems increases, especially if you are dehydrated or have any heart disease. Drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration and report any changes in your urine output immediately.

Alcohol consumption should be avoided or limited while taking this medication, as it can trigger or exacerbate some of its adverse effects, such as drowsiness, dizziness, and stomach bleeding.
